Overview of the Exam

This is a national level entrance exam held in two sessions- in the month of January & July. JIPMER is one of the leading medical institutions of India established in the year 1823 under the Government of India. Candidates will be offered admission into PG level courses in the field of medical. Admission in PG courses will be offered in MD (Doctor of Medicine) & MS (Master of Surgery), DM, M.Ch in a wide range of fields.

According to the JIPMER PG eligibility criteria 2020, the institute has not specified any upper age limit for the candidates appearing for the entrance test.

Minimum Qualification Needed

MD/MS course - Candidate must have an MBBS Degree or any other equivalent degree from the MCI or State Medical Council (SMC) MDS course - Candidates must have a BDS degree or other equivalent degrees from the Dental Council of India (DCI) or State Dental Council (SDC)

Subject Requirements and minimum percentage

General (UR)/Sponsored/Foreign Nationals (FN)/Other Backward Classes (OBC)/ Economic weaker Section (EWS):50% Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST):40% Persons with Disability (PwD): 45%

Special provisions for reserved seats

As per the JIPMER PG/MDS eligibility criteria in the prospectus, applicants must have complete/completing their 12 months rotatory internship by June 30, 2020. Foreign Nationals (FN) should have registered their MBBS degree in the medical council of their respective countries and should take permission from the Medical Council of India (MCI).
