Overview of the Exam

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admissions to candidates in undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law courses offered at 22 NLUs and other colleges/ universities accepting exam scores. Till 2018, the exam was conducted by NLUs on a rotational basis. However, from 2019 onwards it is being conducted by a permanent body formed by the universities, i.e. The Consortium of NLUs.

Age Limit

As per the revised standards, there will be no upper age limit for UG /PG Program in CLAT 2020.

Minimum Qualification Needed

CLAT Eligibility for UG Course (LL.B.): A candidate must have secured minimum marks required in 12th standard, as per the category to which s/he belongs.

Subject Requirements and minimum percentage

CLAT Eligibility for UG Course (LL.B.): For Unreserved /OBC /Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories – A minimum of 45% marks required. For SC/ST Category – A minimum of 40% marks required.
