This course delivers better understanding of the atmospheric conditions that cause weather patterns and temperature changes over time. Throughout the coursework, candidates perform interdisciplinary research and education to develop a scientific understanding of regional climate change and connect it to impacts and effective response. The main topics of research are the study of climate variability, mechanisms of climate changes and modern climate change, the weather and the meteorological phenomena. The study covers the most important geophysical and biogeochemical processes involved in climate change, the socio-economic aspects of causes and effects, as well as adaptation and mitigation as the main categories of societal response.
The candidate should have passed a Masters in Climate Studies with 55% in aggregate from a recognized university.
