Course Description

Ph.D Applied Geophysics is a 3/5 years doctorate course. The course curriculum covers topics like Earth System Science/ Global energy Scenario & Energy Security of India, Waves and Oscillation, Scope of Geophysics, Mineralogy, Petrology and Stratigraphy, Geophysical Prospecting, Physical Geology and Structural Geology, Seismology, etc. The course takes a research based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as Volcanologists, Petroleum Geologists, Environmental Geologists, Glacial or Quaternary Geologists, Structural Geologists and Hydrogeologists etc. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.

Eligibility

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
