Course Description

Periodontics is the area of dentistry that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the tissues that support or surround the teeth, such as the gum tissue and the jaw bones. It also involves the upkeep of the health, function, and looks of the dental tissues. MDS in Periodontics is a 3- year postgraduate program in dentistry. The course focuses on Periodontics and trains students to enable them to diagnose and manage diseases of the periodontium. The course covers topics like Applied anatomy, Applied basic science, Allied clinical sciences, Etiopathogenesis, Etiopathogenesis periodontal diseases, Complete denture prosthesis, Oral implantology, Preventive periodontology, Partial denture prosthesis, Clinical periodontology, Recent activities in periodontics, Fixed partial prosthesis, etc.

Eligibility

The candidate should have completed MBBS or BDS or in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
