MA Development Studies is a 2 years postgraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like Fundamentals of Economics, Human Development, Fundamentals of Geography, Project Management, Introduction to Development Studies, Social Work Research, Communication skills & Behavioural Science, Programming Techniques, Micro Finance, Disaster Management, Gender & Development, Environment Management, Rural & Urban Development, Civil Society, Development of Administration & Planning, Block Placement, etc. The course takes a theoretical based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as Consultant, Administrator, Social Worker, Teacher, Lecturer etc. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.
The candidate should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with a Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
