Course Description

Microbial biotechnology is an incredibly dynamic and exciting subfield of biomedical sciences that is unparalleled in the breadth and diversity of products and services it provides/will provide and to which it contributes, including disease prevention and therapy, diagnostics, agriculture and horticulture, food provision and nutrition, energy production, chemical and material production, water and waste treatment, recycling, acquisition of and adding value to natural resources. The Master of Science in Microbial Technology is an industry-oriented programme that is heavily focused on applied elements of microbiology in a variety of specialised fields of science and technology, including industry, agriculture, and medicine. Each semester, Microbial Technology emphasises hands-on learning via laboratory sessions, internships, and skill development activities. The purpose of this course is to educate students in fundamental and specialised areas of microbiology such as industrial microbiology, medical microbiology, agriculture, and environmental microbiology, to equip students with necessary analytical and research skills, to foster entrepreneurial endeavours, and to prepare a competent generation of microbiologists capable of excelling in their chosen careers. This course will prepare students to pursue careers in academia, research, and industry, including the pharmaceutical, food, and bioprocess industries, where they will be able to establish consulting services and work as entrepreneurs with the ability to develop new products/processes and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Eligibility

Level: Post-Graduate Duration: 2 Years Mode: Full-time Eligibility: BSc or any other equivalent to be eligible to apply for the course. The candidate must possess 50% marks in the graduation degree.
