The programme attempts to provide a base for interdisciplinary research and learning on issues emerging from the interface of human society with the geophysical and the biological environment, both in the local and global sense. The various forms and aspects of this interaction are examined in detail in the programme. The emphasis is on understanding the ecological and the economic, and the socio- Political sustainability of these interactions in the light of developmental objectives and ecological constraints. The issues of economic development, poverty, human development and equity would be revisited and their interlinkages with the environment explored.
Candidates who have cleared BSc (Hons)/BSc (10+2+3) with a score of 50% marks or higher are eligible.
