M. Phil Pali and Prakrit is a 2 years postgraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like development of Pali Language and literature, Meaning and theories of Pali, Origin and development of Pal, Linguistic development of Pali, Formation and nature of Pali Language, Tipitaka Literature, Vansa Literature, Abhilekh, Development of Buddhism in South-East Countries, CattariAriyaSaccani, Paticcasamuppada, etc. The course takes a theoretical based approach. On completion of the course, one can work in educational institutes, colleges, research centers, etc. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.
The candidate should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with a Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
