This course gives students suitable knowledge of tourism as a sector and as a social occurrence, insight into the junction of production, advertising and consumption, as well as society, ethnicity, and nature. The course places special stress on how natural world and society can be used by a responsible industry. It puts together theories of advertising, event organization, sociology and geography. It also gives students a scientific understanding of travel and tourism which is to be executed in a master thesis. It also highlights research ethics and the development of logical, decisive thinking.
The candidate should have M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
