This course concerns the properties of matter, structure, behavior, and composition, as well as changes it undergoes during chemical reactions. In this course, students study various atoms, crystals, molecules, and other aggregates of matter whether in an isolation or combination in relation to the spontaneity of the chemical processes. After completing this course, graduates may get opportunities in areas like Petrochemical Companies, Colleges, Universities, Research Organization, Perfume Industries, Agrochemical Companies, Plastics, Polymer Companies, Military Research Laboratories, Pharmaceutical Companies, etc. The average salary for these professionals ranges between INR 1 to 10 Lacs as per their experience and expertise in this field. M.Phil (Chemistry) course helps to study fundamental chemical and physical properties and principles of their applications and transformations of the materials. Some of the major topics students can study are acid chemistry, base chemistry, chemical equilibrium, electrochemistry, ionic equilibrium, kinetics, elementary chemical thermodynamics, and basic quantitative chemical laboratory techniques. The main aim of this course is to provide candidates with a sampling of fundamentals and applied chemistry research problems from a chemical point of view. In this course, students learn chemical principles which can be obtained from the chemical theory and experiments and also understand in an additional activity. This course emphasizes the mechanisms, organic chemistry of biological compounds, and synthetic applications of organic reactions.
The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
