BSc Statistics Complementary: Mathematics and Actuarial Science is a 3 years undergraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like Basic Statistics and Probability, Probability Distributions, Theory Of Estimation, Testing Of Hypotheses, Mathematical Methods In Statistics, Statistical Computing, Actuarial Science Probability Models And Risk Theory, Stochastic Modelling, Financial Mathematics, Life Contingencies, Life Contingencies And Principles Of Insurance, Probability Models And Risk Theory, etc. The course takes a theoretical based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as Risk analyst, Statistician, Actuary Manager, Research professional, Credit Risk Strategist, Analysis/Statistics Manager, Subject Matter Expert - Statistics, etc. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.
The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (any stream + English) or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
