B.Sc Hons. in Statistics is a 3 years undergraduate degree. Statistics is the practice or science of collecting and analysing numerical data in large quantities, especially for the purpose of inferring proportions in a whole from those in a representative sample. The course curriculum covers topics such as Descriptive Statistics, Probability Theory, Categorical Data analysis, Linear algebra, indian Statistical System, Analysis of Variance, Statistical quality control, Mathematical and Computing basics in statistics, Numerical Methods, Population Statistics, Large sample theory, Sample Survey, Demographics study, etc. Students who have an interest in statistics and data management and want to be a statistician can pursue this course.
The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (any stream + English) or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
