B.Com. in Economics is a 3- year-long undergraduate course divided into 6 semesters, with each semester spanning 6 months. Some institutes offering the course follow an annual exam pattern instead of the semester pattern. The course aims to prepare qualified professionals in the field equipped with both strong technical knowledge and practical sensibility. Economics is an advanced study aimed at determining the monetary feasibility of certain projects, applications, etc. Candidates are taught to analyze and give solutions to economic problems in public as well as private sectors. Using skills in mathematics, statistics and operational research, professionals devise factual and practical solutions to economic issues. The curriculum focuses on building business acumen ineligible students with the inclusion of specialities such as cost accounting and organizational behaviour from among which, students can choose.
The candidate should have qualified 10+2 any stream or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
