• Gain understanding of the techniques and principles of health and safety engineering
• Offer staff and management with health and safety training
• Take routine health and safety reviews and audits
• Ability to keep accurate logs and evaluation reports
• Create corrective action plans to follow up on assessment outcomes and support workers with corrective actions
• Review plans and new machinery and equipment specifications to ensure they meet safety criteria
• Assessing the efficiency of different industrial control mechanisms

They need to be acquainted with the related laws and have an understanding of system and procedure safety and the administration of health and safety programmes.
