The retail manager is in charge of all store employees and reports to a district or general manager. Retail managers spend a lot of time on the shop floor and are constantly in touch with their customers and personnel. A retail manager is in charge of meeting sales objectives. This also necessitates having a high degree of tolerance, people management, and persuasion abilities to engage with angry or agitated consumers. As a result, having a warm and engaging attitude might be advantageous.

A retail shop manager must be a team player and a leader to assess their employees' performance and work with them to increase sales. Additionally, having bargaining abilities is a valuable asset for a retail manager.

They must also have excellent organisational, operational, and planning abilities. The ability to multitask, be proactive and goal-oriented is a plus.
