This material is gathered and assembled by a news reporter for dissemination to the general audience. News reporters are involved in the collecting of information about current events. The reporter gathers all of the necessary facts for a storey and then edits it to match a certain news page or bulletin. News reporters may specialise on a particular 'beat,' such as crime, politics, sports, or business, depending on their writing abilities. Depending on the size of a news company, they may work on one or several beats at the same time.
