Who is Neurologist?
Neurology is the branch of biology which deals with nervous system diagnosis and treatment. It is the study of nerves related to the human nervous system and the medical specialty.
A neurologist IS someone who is an expert in the treatment of disorders affecting the human nervous system. They are highly skilled to detect the primary signs of nerve dysfunction, to assess the cause, the precise location of the problem and its possible treatment.

The job of a Neurologist is to treat disorders and diagnose that affect the brain, nerves, muscle of patients, and spinal cord, they also examine a patient's physical and mental status, conduct scans and medical tests, and evaluate the results to diagnose and also treat the patients.
Job description, Profiles, Roles and Duties:
- Checking, diagnosing and treating spinal cord disorders, associated muscles and tissues, and the brain.
- Evaluate patients with neurological disabilities.
- Update the patient information and charts to show recent results and treatments.
- Order health care personnel to perform tests such as brain scans, MRIs, ultrasound imaging or genetic testing.
- Examine the test outcomes to assess any suspicious findings.
- Recommend and draft a treatment plan.
- Address apprehensions or respond to any queries that patients may have about their health and well-being.
- Assist patients to take care of their health by talking to them about maintaining proper nutrition and hygiene.
- Instruct health care professionals to carry out brain scans, MRIs, ultrasonic imaging or genetic testing.
- Inspect a specific patient by doing a neurological test.
- Assessment of basic brain activity and individual peripheral nervous system.
- Carry out CAT scans, Magnetic Resource Imaging (MRI), EEGs, and other diagnostic assessments.
- Treating illnesses such as stroke, epilepsy, etc.

Neurologists are highly educated people devoting their life to the treatment of nervous system disorders. This profession needs a lot of perseverance, a detailed understanding of anatomy and physiology but also information on other body systems including cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine and digestive systems. That is because any disorder that has an impact on these body systems may have a direct effect on brain activity and cause neurological illness.
Strong record-keeping and other management skills in both the medical and business settings are important. Neurologists need to be good communicators to communicate effectively with other physicians and workers in healthcare.
To arrive at a diagnosis, neurologists need to assess many factors. Therefore, they require problem-solving abilities and may need to work for long periods of time to formulate a diagnosis. You should be optimistic and a good decision-maker who is compassionate and empathizes with the patients.
Neurologists are typically individuals who have a thorough detail- oriented approach and are very experienced at recognizing the subtle symptoms of neurological conditions.
Being a neurologist requires the ability to assess human behavior, knowledge of the latest medical advances in the field, passion for working in difficult circumstances and sincere concern and care for their patients.
