Overview
Who is Energy Auditor?
Energy auditors are the professionals who can evaluate the total energy that is being consumed in a particular area besides suggesting ways to efficiently curtail the energy consumption if it is higher than it should be. These professionals generally work for energy companies. Energy auditors identify ways in which a business or home can improve its energy consumption, saving businesses and people a lot of money. They require knowledge in construction, electrical systems, and energy conservation. They begin with inspecting the premise, be it a home or an office building, to measure the heat, cooling, gas, and electrical usage, and then perform various tests.

What does Energy Auditor do?
An energy auditor applies their knowledge of building, electronics, and energy conservation to identify methods in which a company or residence might optimise its energy use. For example, they investigate methods in which a building may be using more energy than required and present their case via reports on development potential. This may result in significant financial savings for corporations and individuals.
- Inspect homes and building structures, heating systems, ventilation, air conditioning, water, and industrial processes
- Determine if energy is being used efficiently and pinpoint where it is being wasted
- Analyze the results of audits to determine where energy efficiency can be improved
- Produce reports and present audit findings to clients
- Use testing equipment to identify the potential for energy conservation
- Educate users on energy use habits and the potential for consumption and cost reduction
- Prepare cost estimates for potential rectification and retrofit of equipment and processes.
- Review documentation, policies, procedures, and reports.
