What does Critical care Nurse do?

A critical care nurse provides specialised care to critically ill or injured patients who require advanced care in intensive care units, emergency rooms, neonatal ICUs, paediatric ICUs, cardiovascular catheter labs, telemetry units, progressive units, and recovery rooms are all available.. Doctors, surgeons, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse researchers, nurse educators, and healthcare case managers collaborate with critical care nurses.

In addition to hospitals, critical care nurses work in patients' homes, outpatient surgery facilities, private physicians' offices, managed care centres, and nursing schools. Critical care nurses conduct difficult patient assessments, carry out rigorous interventions and therapies, and keep track of patients. Because the health of a critically ill or injured patient can rapidly deteriorate without warning, critical care nurses must be prepared to promptly adjust a current treatment plan and offer emergency care.
